Chapter 12: Dearest Brother
~*~
“HE’S…” Cagalli started. Her voice raised and was ready to spill everything. But she stopped for some reason. She stopped and looked at Athrun who kept his gaze.
“He- He’s not your child! SO you can don’t worry, all our links are broken! Be it our feelings or the child, they are all gone! So I won’t come back into your life! This e and bother you! This, you can rest assured!” Cagalli snapped, annoyance was shone splattered on her face with no attempt to hide it.
“What the- well let me refresh your failing memory Ms Yula, it was you who left me one freaking morning” Athrun hissed angrily as he remembered the cruel past, the history that made him cry in sorrow. But not now, now he will not admit his pitiful self. He was determined to get the truth of Kira’s birth. This was the only thing that was holding him back. Cagalli stayed silent for awhile. Her eyes soften as the flames of fury were extinguished and instead, her eyes reflected the sorrow that she had contained in her heart.
“Do you really think I wanted to?” Cagalli whispered softly. Athrun wanted so badly to stand up and go over and apologize to her. Hold her tight and tell him that it was his fault for bringing up the past. But he could not. His pride that had been hurt, his heart that could never fully recover prevented him from doing so.
“I freaking think so.” Athrun said coldly.
*Splash
Athrun looked at Cagalli shocked. His midnight blue hair was wet and so was his shirt. Cagalli was by now on her feet with her emptied cup in her hand. She was panting now. No, not because she was breathless but because she was just to mad.
*SLAP.
Cagalli held her right cheek as a stinging slap came and slapped her across the face. Tears welled up her eyes as her cheek turned red. Cagalli looked at Athrun, her expression hurt him but he refused to waver. Then, it came. A drop of beady tear slipped down her cheek as it caressed the red cheek of Cagalli. Seeing Cagalli cry, it totally broke his pride. He did not care about the answers anymore. Who cared? What will it do? Nothing. It was useless. It had no value or whatsoever. He only wanted to justify himself. He only wanted her back in his arms. Goodness, why was he such a jerk?
“Cags, I…” Athrun started as he moved towards Cagalli. Cagalli shook her head as she took a step back. Tears were now slipping uncontrollably down her face as she looked painfully at Athrun.
3 words. Those 3 words left him rooted on the ground.
“Good bye Athrun” Cagalli whispered as she grabbed her handbag and ran out of the café. Athrun fell into his seat as he watched Cagalli leave. Then a silhouette was cast over the bluenette.
“Are you letting her leave?” a masculine voice sounded behind Athrun. Athrun without looking at the back replied.
“She’s hurt by me.” Athrun sighed as he watched as Cagalli disappears in the crowd.
“Therefore?” The stranger asked as he circled the table. Athrun looked at the empty seat blankly still refusing to take a look at the stranger.
“I’m leaving soon… If I get back with her now, she will be hurt later.” He murmured.
“So is it fine for me to take her? My dear older brother.” The stranger asked as he leaned down to whisper behind Athrun. His breath tickling his ear.
*WHAM
The café broke into gasps as they all saw a raven hair lad on the floor with a trail of blood from his lips.
“If your are intending to die before your actual death date, you should know what to do.” Athrun hissed.
“So you are giving me the green light?”Athrun’s younger brother queried.
“Sh-!”
“My dear brother. Don’t you know my nature? Unless that thing its mine, I will never take it.” The black haired lad with navy blue orbs reasoned.
“Kira?”
“Don’t try to stop me, my dear brother. Or else, don’t blame me if I send her off first.”
“YOU!"
“Bye bye.” The younger male smirked as he left a gleaming golden object on the table. Athrun looked at it and picked it up.
“A pocket watch…” Athrun whispered as he flipped it open. On the wall of the watch was placed a picture of a young blonde smiling as the sun set behind her. The watch face however had a crack running down its glass. The hands had stopped moving and had stopped at a place. Athrun read it and was thrown into shock. Athrun looked at his black leather watch and looked back at the pocket watch.
“SHIT!” Athrun cussed as he placed the bill on the table and rushed off in the direction that Cagalli disappeared to.

Chapter 11: Whose?
~*~
Two people, a blonde lady with fiery amber eyes and a lad with midnight blue hair and a pair of stunning emerald eyes, sat at the side of the open aired café under the beautiful sakura trees that were in bloom. The lady picked up her cup of latte and took a sip.
“Cags…” the guy started as he looked at the lady in her eyes.
“Fine... thanks” Athrun quivered as he felt Cagalli’s warm gaze study him as he sat opposite her. Then Athrun realized how Cagalli had changed. Her hair was now a little longer, pass her shoulder blades and thinner and layered neatly. Her blonde hair still shone brightly under the bright morning sun. Her amber eyes continued to shine with that fierce passion that could never be tamed. His breath quickened as he noticed how her body has changed and as he lowered his gaze to her abdomen and he remembered something. He looked at Cagalli earnestly. His emerald eyes glowing with an unknown feeling. Cagalli looked up and gave him an inquiring look.
“I heard from Kanon about the child”
*Plunk
Cagalli stared at Athrun with her jaws dropped as well as the crème pastry that she poked with her fork.
“What did Kanon tell you? WHAT DID HE TELL YOU?!” Cagalli demanded her cool she slowly lost.
“Where’s our child Cags? Is he Kira?” Athrun continued, his voice remained the same. Cool and emotionless. Cagalli took a deep breath as she finally looked at Athrun.
“Since it was Kanon who told you, He should also have mentioned about the miscarriage.” Cagalli sighed as she rested her gaze at Athrun’s wedding ring that shimmered in the morning rays.
“Mi-miscarriage?” Athrun stuttered as he looked at Cagalli.
“Our child is dead Athrun.” Cagalli released the fatal truth that made Athrun freeze in shock.
“Then Kira… whose child is Kira?” Cagalli’s mouth quivered. She opened her lips as though she wanted to tell Athrun the truth. But realization struck her at the next instance. Her lips fell into a frown as her brows became in a straight line.
“Answer me Cagalli!” Athrun yelled when his patience started to wear thin.
“HE’S…” Cagalli started.
