"Kaasan... Masaka... Kanojo wa Stella ka?" Kira stuttered as he revealed his guess.
*slap
an ominous slap echoed across the room. Kira held his cheek, his eyes widened in shock as he looked at his mother.
"If you do not know anything please, I beg of you, don't say anything at all" Cagalli snapped tears streaming down her cheeks before breaking down as she collapsed on the floor and started sobbing.
"I'm… I’m going to school" Kira whispered still shock of what his mother has did. Quietly, he picked up his school bag and slung it over his shoulders as he headed towards the door frame that leads to the outside of the dining room.
"Kira...” Cagalli called out her voice quivering. Kira turned and saw Cagalli broken and tired. Tears had stopped by then and tiny hics were heard in its wake. Her eyes were bloodshot, her face looked pale and so did her used to be pink lips. Her shoulders were hunched forward and her hands pivoted on the marble tiled floor for support. Kira's determination to remain indifferent slowly ebb away as he walked slowly to where his mother had collapsed and brought her gently into his arms and whispered gentle comforting words to his mother just like how she did when he was a child. Cagalli in turn cuddled against Kira's chest and choked out strangled apologies in between sobs. Kira nodded as he heard his mother snooze off in his arms. After awhile, Kira nudged Cagalli, to find no response.
She’s asleep? Kira blinked as he saw how carefree his mother was.
“Mother…” Kira nudged. Cagalli shifted uncomfortably and rearranged her body in a more comfy manner and continued her slumber. Sighing, Kira picked her up, careful not to wake her up in fear of his mother’s wrath, and brought her carefully to her room.
With his back facing the door, Kira pushed the door open and almost trip over a round thing that rolled out of the way due to the pressure exerted on the top of it. The middle pitched cling of the object with the wall suggested that it was a glass bottle.
Drinking again huh? Kira thought smugly as he trudged through the dark room careful at where he land his foot in caution that he might step on a beer bottle and trip or worse, wake his mother up. Finally, he reached his mother’s unkempt bed, with his free hand, he pulled the heavy cover off and placed his mother gently on the bed and pulled the woolen cover back over her. Seating at the edge of the bed and stroked her blonde hair and tucked some stray strands behind her ear. Cagalli turned and cuddled more comfortably at her side, her stomach showing to Kira.
“Ki…ra…” Cagalli murmured with her eyes closed. Kira smiled and patted her head before getting up and walk out of the room closing the oak door behind him. When he head finally exited the room and was down at the dining room, he palmed his sore cheek still wondering what caused his mother’s great agitation. Curious, he picked up the photo that was left behind on the table and studied it with great concentration but was soon left disappointed when he could see no thing that could spark off Cagalli’s irritation.
Suddenly remembering school, Kira picked up his navy blue bag and slung it over his shoulder and looked at the wall clock.
19:37
It read. Kira smirked, at the time, he turned and looked at the calendar and saw what date it was.
01/09/2237
Coincidence~ Kira thought as he dropped his bag lazily on the wooden chair and went up his room and continued studying those violas score.

Athrun looked at the calendar monotonously that was placed at the edge of the rectangular dining table. The wind blew across the small town brushing up fallen leaves as they danced in the air before landing uncouthly on the pavement once again. The weather was getting more and more hectic. Yesterday’s snow was a week earlier than expected and everybody is getting paranoid about it.
“Global warming.” Athrun answered as he sipped his cup of coffee answering his daughter’s question as she sat across him.
“Dad, please.” Stella looked at her dad knowing that he knew something to do with this erratic weather pattern.
“Dear, what do you want to listen? The gods were angry and decided to play duck duck goose? And by accident hit a baby who in turn cried a river as the remaining gods played Cry Me a River by Justin Buble.” Athrun said without looking up from the morning newspaper. When he finally did look up, he caught the demanding look that Stella threw at him that indicated her disbelief in her father’s cook up story.
“Oh, it snowed right? Oh, and so some idiots came and threw white paint at the tears. Hence it ra-snowed last night. Happy?” Athrun asked as he folded the newspaper and placed it back at the edge of the table and bent over the table and gave Stella his signature look. Those that made girls go ga-ga over him.
“Dad, you are my dad, don’t flirt with me.” Stella said as she hit him with the just abandoned newspaper. “Now tell me, you studied this in university right?” Stella asked as she dropped her pad of writing paper on the table and looked at Athrun seriously. Athrun dropped back to his original position and looked at Stella.
“They are crying because we are leaving. Happy?” Athrun hissed as he stood up and left.
“Dad! DA~D!!” Stella yelled after her father as she chased him up the stairs and to his room.
WHAM!
Stella was thrown into shock as the bedside table just barely missed her. After leaving a horribly shallow depression in the wooden closet, its debris collapsed on the marble floor leaving a mess of broken wood and splinters on the ground.
“D…dad?” Stella whispered as she edged closer to her enraged father with her heart beating at an inhuman speed. But her father remained silent as he crumbled on his queen size bed and positioned his elbows on his knees.
“Dad?”
“I’m sorry Stella; please leave me alone for now.” Athrun sighed as he massaged his temple. Stella looked at Athrun and nodded before leaving the room closing the door quietly behind her and her heading down the stairs to the kitchen to pick up her bag. But then she saw how late it was now and how useless it would be to go to school that she dropped her bag and went up to her room to change out of her school uniforms and put on an oversized white tee and a pair of P.E shorts before heading back down to the kitchen to continue her essay on the erratic weather.
